Getting to Calabria
Calabria is an up and coming area with roads and airports both upgraded in the last few years.
In March 2011 Lamezia Terme International announced passenger numbers up almost 20% in 2010 and also of it''s plans to build a new termonal for low cost carriers. Ryanair is said to be set to adopt the airport as a new strategic hub. With these developments other low cost flyers are expected to open direct routes to Calabria.
Since April 2011 however Calabria has been easily accessible. It is now well connected by air, railways and roads.

Reggio Calabria Airport
Reggio Calbria airport takes mainly internal flights currently but is expected to be expanded so as to be able to also take International flights.
The Reggio Calabria "Tito Minniti" Airport IATA : REG, ICAO: LICR, is also known as Aeroporto dello Stretto (Airport of the Strait) is located very near Reggio Calabria. It was named after an Italian Air Force hero Tito Minniti, who was born in Reggio Calabria.
